American Baked Beans
Ingredients
1 Pint Dried Beans
1 Large Onion
1 tspn. Dry Mustard
Stock
1 tblspn. Brown Sugar
1 tspn. Black Treacle
1 tspn. Soya Sauce

Method
Soak the beans according to the type used. Turn into casserole with coarsely chopped onion. Mix salt, sugar, treacle, mustard and soya sauce with a little warm water and ppour over beans. Just cover the beans with stock until they do not show. Bake in moderate oven with lid on. Keep the stock to the same level while cooking. This will vary depending on the beans, but allow about 5 hours.
