Gooseberry Pie

3 Cups Gooseberries
1-1/2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Water
2 tblspns. Flour
1 tspn. Cinnamon
Pinch Salt
1/2 tspn Cloves
Pinch Nutmeg
Combine gooseberries, 1 cup sugar and water and cook until berries are tender. Sift remaining sugar, flour, salt and spices together. Stir into cooked mixture and cool. Line a pie-plate with pastry. Pour in filling and dot with the tblspn. Butter. Cover with top crust. Seal well and prick. Bake at 450o F for 10 mins. Reduce heat to 350o F and bake for 25 mins. Longer.
