Eggless Cake

1 lb. Flour
4 oz. Sugar
1 dssrtspn. Syrup
2 tspns. Bi-carb.
1/2 pint sour Milk
1-1/2 tspns Allspice
8 oz. Currants
6 oz. Butter
4 oz. Candied Peel
4 oz. Sultanas.
Sift flour and soda. Rub in butter, add sugar and spice. Warm syrup and pour in the centre of the flour.Add fruit and sour milk and beat well. Bake in a well greased tin in moderate oven (3500-3750F) for 1 to 1-1/4 hours.
